Defended my thesis (1976) and received candidateТs degree in philology.
In 1985 I was on a four-month study tour in Great Britain in Leeds and Уrecharged
my academic batteriesФ considerably.
At present I am an assistant
professor at the English Department of Samara State
University, where I began my teaching career in
1975. For over 20 years I have also been the assistant
dean of the Philological Faculty in research work.
A member of TESOL and in 2000-2001
was a reviewer of language-teaching projects at the
Open Society Institute, the Volga Humanitarian Foundation.
Professional Interests.
Personal interests in philology
are concentrated on History of English and Syntax
of Colloquial English (diachronic aspect).
Publications and Conferences
I have published 98 articles, theses, abstracts
and manuals. Some of the theses of those works were
delivered at International and All-Russian conferences
held in Saint-Petersburg, Leeds (Great Britain),
Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, etc.

Courses Tught
My teaching duties include lecturing
on History of the English Language, Theoretical
Aspects of English Grammar, Principles of Research
Work in Philology; I am also a research advisor
to students while they are writing their annual
and graduate essays.
Awards
In 1985 I was awarded a Diploma
by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation
for a high quality of studentsТ research papers
written under my guidance.
